Saboten: Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

4:38 PM

After eating at a Korean Restaurant in Alabang Town Center called Bulgogi Brothers, I had this sudden craving for a Japanese food. In my mind I was hoping to taste a legit Tempura or Tonkatsu.

The morning before he picked me up from our house, I was already searching for a good Japanese restaurant through the internet. I cam across this name: Saboten. Through ZomatoPh, my hypothalamus told me that “this is the one”.

I wasn’t able to order immediately! It’s as if, I wanted to eat everything they have in their menu. The photos of the food in the menu were on fleek that made me crave more!

I ordered their Miso Katsu Loin Set while my boyfriend got a Shrimp and Loin Set. What I love about this restaurant is that their set comes with an unlimited rice, soup and salad! Isn't that amazing?!

Before they served us with what we ordered, they gave us their trademark salad- which I must say taste perfect! Serving time didn’t take long and I applaud them for it.

Rating:

Food: 4/5. This was supposed to be a 5/5 however the Miso Katsu Loin that I ordered was a bit hard to chew. It’s as if it needs more frying… however it still tasted good! I tasted the tempura ordered by my boyfriend and it tasted awesome! I’m ordering that next time!

Serving size. 5/5: I am a person who eats rice more than the “ulam” (viand) so I can say that the serving size is A- Okay!

Place: 5/5. The place is not that far from the entrance part of Serendra if you’re coming from Market Market!. The restaurant has a great ambience. It was quiet and relaxing.  It’s a place where you can have a peaceful talk with whomever you’re with while eating. It also has good lighting perfect for photo-ops and “foodstagrams”.

Service: 5/5. The crew were very warm. They were so kind in assisting us specially when instructing us on how to mix their trademark salad. They were also more than willing to take our photos too. I also commend how fast their service was. We didn’t wait too long for our orders to be served.

Overall: 5/5: definitely going back here!

Must try: Tempura!!!!
