Review: Bench Fix Dry Shampoo

10:31 AM

Did you know that shampooing everyday is a major no no? Research shows that it is not advisable to shampoo our hair everyday- specially if you have thick hair like me.
Natural oils won’t come out if we keep on shampooing our hair everyday we wash. Every other day or every 2-3 days with no shampoo is fine. Some do not even wet their hair hence the importance of having a dry shampoo!

Dry shampoo will help clean your hair without the use of water. If you feel like not washing your hair (especially during the cold days and you just feel like lying down and keep being lazy) but you want it to smell and look like it is washed, dry shampoo is for you!

I do not shampoo my hair every day (don’t judge!). I only shampoo 2x a week. I apply conditioner for the rest of the days.

Last year, I came across a Youtuber who talked about the importance of having a dry shampoo. I felt like this is a must for me because why not right? “dry shampoos have gained popularity in recent years for being an easy, low-maintenance way to extend the time between washings.” – Allison Ford | More Beauty. Only one problem emerged. There’s no dry shampoo here in the Philippines, UNTIL! Bench Fix came in to the rescue! When my family and I went to Bench Trinoma last month and saw that Bench Fix made its first ever Dry Shampoo!

Here’s where my review goes.

Bench Fix Shampoo & Dash Dry Shampoo.

· Paraben and Toxin Free

· Absorbs excess oil

· Easy to rinse off

· Ideal for all hair types

· Boosts Volume

· Removes Odor

· Natural & Matte Finish

What I love about this dry shampoo is that it is very lightweight when applied to the hair and it smells sooooo damn good! It is very refreshing too! My hair does not feel too oily as well!

It also really removes unwanted odor! Plus! Since I started using this, I started having lesser hairfall! Probably because I wet my hair lesser? Idk. Hahaha! It also gives this bouncy feeling whenever I brush my hair. It is also easy to style my hair after applying this dry shampoo.

I am only using this whenever I am too lazy or too busy to actually wash/condition my hair. I personally think that if you are living in a tropical country like the Philippines, not wetting your hair everyday is a taboo. Not wetting your hair once or twice is enough but if you will not wet it for 5 days and just keep applying dry shampoo for it? I do think your hair will develop dandruffs (with the dirt and pollution level in the country?!) or look oily. But if you live in a colder place like the U.S.A., then I think using dry shampoo more than 2x a week will be good.

How I wash my hair and when do I use dry shampoo?

Monday: Shampoo

Tuesday: Conditioner/Dry Shampoo (whenever I feel lazy/busy to wet my hair)

Wednesday: Conditioner

Thursday: Conditioner

Friday: Shampoo

Saturday: Conditioner/ Dry shampoo (whenever I feel lazy/busy to wet my hair)

Sunday: Shampoo

How about you? Do you know any other brands of dry shampoo being sold here in the Philippines? If you do, comment them down below! :D

  3. I wish I was able to try dry shampoo in my hair, but with my hair texture, it's probably not a good idea haha. We actually use something called a co-wash, which is a lot more hydrating for our naturally dry hair. I am glad you found a product that works well for you though, girl!

    1. Hi JM! Its so sad to hear that Bench in Abu Dhabi closed. I grew up in Oman (a neighboring country) and I always visit Dubai and Abu Dhabi too. Dibale, treat yourself with this when you get home! Worth it!

  6. I've always been interested in trying dry shampoo, but it probably won't work with my hair texture. My natural hair is very curly and kinky so I try to keep it moisturized regularly. I typically wash it with conditioner once a week.

  9. I've always been intrigued by dry shampoos. My natural hair texture is very kinky and curly so I don't think I'd get good results. But, I try to condition my hair regularly.

  10. When I went to the Philippines last year, I did notice that they often washed their hair. I used to as well (I'm part Filipina), but I had too much hair falling out, so I had to stop. This sounds like a great product, though; I'd like to give that a try.
